Greetings from the sunny south, Madaline and I are just about ready to begin heading north albeit slowly so all the snow is melted by the time we arrive. Throughout Region 1 our units are ready to transition from record breaking snow totals into an active season of Airstream travel and gatherings. All units have calendars filled with numerous events, so check out their websites to checkout all the opportunities for fun and fellowship.

Come to our Region 1 “2015 Gathering” on May 29, 30 and 31 at Franklin County Fair Grounds, Greenfield, MA. Plan on gathering with friends on Friday evening for a “heavy appetizer” Happy Hour” provided by your Region 1 officers. On Saturday morning come to the pancake breakfast, followed by a short Region 1 business meeting. Then enjoy a free day to explore many local places in the area. By late afternoon prepare to enjoy a community Happy Hour and potluck dinner. The Greenfield Flyer is attached. We look forward to seeing you there. Oh and if you want to come earlier you may add a day to the beginning and arrive on Thursday and also a day at the end and stay until Monday. The extra days are $22 each and you pay the Fairgrounds directly just let Rick Cipot (mrjrick@aim.com) know so he can put you on the list.

For those members that are attending the WBCCI International rally held on June 26-July4 in Farmington, NM Madaline and I look forward to seeing you there. We also want you to know that we will be hosting a Region 1 luncheon on July 1, starting at 11:30 at St. Clair Winery and Bistro 5150 E. Main Street Farmington, NM. (http://www.stclairwinery.com/farmington) Some wine tasting will be provided by St Clair Winery. We will order of the regular Lunch Menu and separate checks will be provided. This off-site location is about 15 minutes from the campground. You do not have to be registered at the WBCCI International Rally to attend the Region 1 Luncheon. We have a private room reserved but please let us know if you will attend so we can update the folks at the restaurant.

Ty Mott and I (the Region 1 Nominating Committee) want you all to know about the opening we have for a 2nd Vice President. Taking on this role is usually a 6 year commitment however since we have been without a 2nd VP for a year this opportunity would only be 5 years (1 yr/2nd VP, 2 yrs/1st VP, then 2 yrs/President of Region 1). I can tell you from personal experience that the time in each office goes quickly and you can have a lot of fun getting to know the club and officers in all the other regions as well as the International Officers. This is a time of change in our club and you will be a participant in crafting and implementing those changes. Several examples happening this year are the availability of electronic membership directories, web based signup for new members, web based renewals coming very soon for all members, the availability of electronic submission and distribution of unit/region activities. Now that the dates for International Rallies are more flexible, east of the Mississippi Rally sites are back starting with Lewisburg, WV in 2016 and more on the way. If you have questions or interest in the 2nd VP Position please give me or Tye a call to discuss.

After the Farmington International Rally Madaline and I plan to return home and we are certainly looking forward to seeing you all in New England!
