Unit Activities in Region 1
Don’t forget that several units in Region 1 are planning Holiday Parties in early December. Information is available from unit newsletters, unit websites, or via http://region1.wbcci.net/, which has links to most of our unit websites.
A review of our Region 1 Units’ rally schedules for 2010 show a wide range of activities, including winter luncheons and frequent rallies “in season”. Region 1’s largest units, Charter Oak CT Unit and New England Unit, are each planning two rallies in most of the warmer months. Do take advantage of these wonderful choices. WBCCI Members are welcome at any unit event – subject only to making timely reservations when required!
Mid-winter IBT Meeting & Rally, January 19-23, 2010, Rayne, LA
The International Board of Trustees will hold its mid-winter meeting at the Rayne Civic Center, 300 Frog Festival Drive, Rayne, LA, from Tuesday, January 19th through Saturday, January 23rd. The meeting is expected to include lively debate of WBCCI finances, including projected operating deficits, and the relative merits of a dues increase, budget cuts through reduced member services, and an aggressive marketing and advertising program proposed by the WBCCI Marketing Committee. Members are urged to attend this important meeting and to present their views concerning all matters on the meeting agenda.
The associated rally offers members the opportunity to visit picturesque areas of southeastern Louisiana’s Gulf Coast, with several National Wildlife Refuges. And, Rayne bills itself as “The Frog Capital of the World”!
What’s News in Region 1?
Your Region President plans the next Region 1 Newsletter following the Mid-winter IBT Meeting in Rayne, LA. Your suggested news items will be most welcome, preferably after January 1st.
