Our new website is coming…..

WBCCI Logo Header

Here’s a preview of the new WBCCI website.  The Electronics Communications Committee is spending long hours getting ready for the launch.  Thanks for your patience.  We have work yet to do, but we think you’ll enjoy the new look and new features.  This is our website.  It is club-owned and club-operated.  If you’d like to help by managing a section of the website, email the ECC at ecc@wbcci.net.

“Airstreaming with Kids”

A new resource will soon be available for WBCCI members traveling with children and grandchildren.

Jen Ehrhardt of the Pensacola FL unit is collecting ideas for making Airstreaming a fun and educational experience for kids of all ages.

Please send your ideas to ehrhardtjen@gmail.com for publication in the upcoming “Airstreaming with Kids” section of the WBCCI website.

Reading on the Road    (But not while you’re driving)

After a long day of Airstreaming, how do you “wind down” in the evening? Do you turn to the stack of books, an iPad, a Kindle, or a Nook?

When you come to the International Rally in Sedalia MO join other book lovers for a discussion about books and how we read them.

Consider these book titles: Travels with Charlie by John Steinbeck (a classic about a man in his 50s with wanderlust, an RV, and a giant poodle named Charley.), Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen (adapted to film), Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand (non fiction about World War II), or The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (one of Amazon’s best selling books for 2011).

To flesh out this new idea for getting together at Sedalia send your ideas to Hedda Smithson at fohedda@macnexus.org

This will be fun!

Consider a  Short  Caravan

Caravan in BC

SO YOU WANT TO GO ON A CARAVAN?  Perhaps National Caravans are too long and you can’t get that much time away from work.   At present there are no “short” National Caravans, but consider a unit or regional caravan advertised on the “Short Caravans” section of the upcoming WBCCI web site. These 1 – 2 week caravans are open to any WBCCI member.  Look for a caravan happening in your area, sign up, and go.  This is just a beginning and we hope the number of short caravans offered will multiply.

Catch the caravanning bug and you will be on the way to signing up for a National Caravan when time allows.

This is also a good way for unit or region caravans to reach maximum capacity.  After your unit members have signed up, how about posting your unit caravan to the website, inviting other WBCCI members to participate? What better way to bring new friends to your corner of the world?   Contact Marion Pember, National Caravan Promotions, to post your caravan today.  happihart2@aol.com

Here is a sneak peek at unit caravans soon to be posted.  Several are “come and go” caravans in which you can join and leave the caravan at any point.
