How exciting – The Wally Byam Airstream Club will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the International Rally and the 65th anniversary of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International this year. During the month of June, more Airstreams than in the last ten years will be gathering in Loveland Colorado to celebrate our love for adventure and fellowship during the 2020 International Rally. Quite the achievement for a single brand recreational vehicle club and something we can all be proud of. Each and every one of you reading this issue of the Blue Beret has contributed to this success. First, you purchased an Airstream. Whether a brand new Airstream or a new to you Airstream, you joined a family of likeminded individuals who understand the desire for new adventures over every hill waiting to be explored. Yes, you are someone special who understands that an Airstream can and do bring people together.
An organization as large as ours doesn’t just happen. It takes people joining together to organize, coordinate, and execute activities and gatherings to make our club as great and exciting as it is. Volunteers are the backbone of our club from the office of International President down to the local club chairperson for gopher hole location at rallies. So many of us have stepped forward to take up officer positions in our local club, hosted rallies, and put together club directories and newsletters. It’s what we do. Thank you all for offering your time and talent to our club.
We have a great camping season in front of us for 2020 and Sandi and I look forward to seeing you at a rally this year sharing a good time and a new adventure. And as always, keep the shiny side up.
